Out Of Service Trains And Sheppard Extension

The Yonge subway riders can identify with this one.

This always happens in the evening rush hour when you are tired you grab the train going northbound you are able to get a seat and as the train continues further more people get on and as the train pulls out of Eglinton Station an announcement on the speakers in the train informs everybody that the train is going out of service at Lawrence station and everybody gets kicked off the train and the next train is full and everyone is packed in like sardines just to get home.

I was told by a TTC supervisor that the trains go out of service because of time commitments and other customers might get mad if the train is a couple of minutes late.

Considering that there are no subway schedules posted I find that explanation hard to believe.

When I am elected Mayor of Toronto I will stop this practice of kicking entire subway trains of people onto platforms and only take subway trains out of service at the end of the line.

I will also build a Sheppard extension line from Yonge to Downsview Station creating a loop for the Yonge, University and Spadina line this way if there is any problems on the track, people will be able to use the subway to go the other way to get to where they are going instead of being loaded into overcrowded shuttle buses.

The loop line would be the core for branch lines to service the more populated areas.
